Are you tired of trying to do it all? Is trying to be everything to everyone wearing you down? Or, do you find yourself taking care of everyone but you?

Here are a few ideas for you to get off the Wonder Woman Super Highway.

Choose one, or do all three, and start to enjoy the renewal of your body, mind and spirit today.

In Your Journal . . .


One: Absolute Yes! List

This is an amazingly effective and powerful exercise I use every 3-4 months that keeps me on track with balancing my life, taking stock of what’s really important and necessary, and what’s draining my energy and my joy.

A great coaching tool is making an Absolute Yes List. This is a list of the 5 most important things that need your attention at this time. (for the next 3-4 months) Ask yourself the following question and write down your answers in your journal.

What 4-5 things most need my attention at this time in my life?

Next, it’s important to identify what things are draining your energy in order to let go of them—ask yourself:

What’s draining me?

Next, ask yourself this question:

What do I need to let go of?

(This doesn’t mean it’s for good. It can be just for now-this can even be something that you love. You are simply putting it aside for the next 3-4 months, or it may be something you want to let go of for good.

Then, write down these answers on 3 x 5 index cards and put them in places you see often. This will keep you on track with your life and making better choices.




Two: Simplify and Downshift

This is a great exercise to take a “reality check” when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Be realistic. If you feel overwhelmed by some activities and obligations, ask yourself:

  • Must it be done?
  • Must it be done now?
  • Must it be done by me?



Three: Nurture Yourself

This is a great way to show yourself some love and kindness, and renew and refresh yourself.

Schedule a mini-retreat with yourself. Get a massage, immerse yourself in a Jacuzzi, soak up the healing heat in a sauna, have your nails done, try a minty mask—read poetry, buy yourself flowers, write in your journal, read a steamy romance novel….go ahead, pamper yourself. You deserve it!


I am enough.


Just for today, grant me the courage to love and nurture me; and to say no to others instead of always saying no to myself. Help me to see that I do not need to be everything, do everything or have everything. Today, let me set boundaries, ask for what I need, and honor myself and my time.
