#1 Reason You’re Tired All the Time + 2 Ways You Can Supercharge Your Energy

tired all the time

Are you fed up with feeling tired all the time?

I hear people telling me about their chronically low energy levels almost everyday, and I can totally relate because before I understood how the body creates energy, I suffered from extremely low energy much of the time.

It’s no fun! Low energy not only saps your enjoyment of life – it also affects your weight, mood, relationships, overall health and quality of life.

Your body needs ample energy to repair and renew, and if you don’t have enough energy to do that, your health will begin to degenerate and lead to symptoms first, and eventually disease.

What I’ve found over the many years since I reversed MS and learned how to create optimal health, is that most people simply don’t understand why they’re tired all the time.

Most people chalk fatigue and low energy up to stress, lack of sleep and aging. True, stress and lack of sleep do sap your energy, but those are not the only reasons you’re feeling tired so often.

Your Body Was Designed to Produce All the Energy You Need

Your body was designed to produce all the energy you need and want. Anytime you are experiencing fatigue, or chronic exhaustion, there’s something wrong with your body’s energy mechanisms or pathways.

There are many reasons you lose energy, but the main one – and where you need to start – is here:

How Your Body Creates Energy at the Cellular Level

You are made up of cells – there are over 70 trillion cells in the average human body! Hard to even wrap your head around that, but physically – you are cells and energy. So, you really need to understand how the cells produce energy to understand where you need to start when it comes to supercharging your own energy.

Your energy is manufactured inside your cells by what is called the mitochondria. Mitochondria are “the powerhouses”or “energy factories” of the cell. There are hundreds to thousands of these in a typical cell, every cell containing a unique pattern of DNA (instructions on what to do).

Their job is to provide energy for the cell, and they do that by using the food you eat and the oxygen you breathe to create ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the energy needed by the body to function.

The energy (ATP) is then sent to the specific organ, bone structure, etc. to perform the specific function it was designed for. ATP is the fuel that maintains and sustains your entire body.

Mitochondria transform oxygen and nutrients into energy (ATP).

How Toxins Block the Mitochondria from Creating Energy

Research show that toxins from processed foods, GMOs, and the 80,000+ known toxic chemicals in the environment, are having an increasingly damaging effect on our health and energy levels (as well as weight, moods, etc.).

Toxins create oxidative stress on the cells and damage the DNA, as well as the mitochondria. The DNA in mitochondria is even more susceptible to oxidative stress than in the nuclear DNA. Even relatively minor additional stress – alcohol, cigarette smoke, or other toxicants, for instance – could tip someone toward metabolic illness.

2 Ways You Can Supercharge Your Energy

1. Eat a clean diet of whole, unprocessed foods. For many people who are prone to immunological conditions, this also means eliminating the major inflammatory (toxic) foods: gluten, dairy, GMO’s, processed foods, eggs, nuts, seeds, soy, corn, and sugar.

It is now recommended by most functional healthcare professionals and researchers for everyone to avoid gluten, dairy, GMOs, processed foods, sugar, and soy.

2. As noted in this blog, toxins damage the mitochondria – your energy factories inside your cells. It is not enough to just eat healthy. You also need to intentionally detox your body and cells through different means.

Here are a few:

  • Clean food diet
  • Supplements that assist in detoxification
  • Strengthening the major detoxification organs (Your skin, liver, parts of the lymphatic system, kidneys, intestine/colon, and lungs)
  • Chelation therapy
  • Switching personal care products and cleaning products to healthier ones.
  • Sweating
  • Drinking lots of water
  • Dry skin brushing (to remove dead cells so toxins can escape)
