Stop Scattered Thinking and Start Creating Healing Miracles in Your Life

scattered thinking

Do you ever wish you could get your old self back – the one that had more energy, less pain, more lightness and playfulness?

Many people with health challenges or those who have no formal diagnosis, but experience constant “annoying” symptoms like bloating, itchy skin, painful joints, insomnia, etc. succumb to thinking that this is just the “new normal”- “as good as it gets”.

Or they tell themselves that they’re just getting older, have too much “stress”, or that they just don’t have good genes.

While all of these factors contribute to health problems, in fact, they are some of the most common health myths that keep people stuck in chronic disease conditions.

You Were Not Designed to Live with Low Energy and Pain

None of your symptoms need be the “new normal”. We were not designed to live with low energy and pain. We were not meant to live in resignation or just tolerate symptoms that diminish our quality of life. That was never the plan.

Every symptom of illness or unhappiness can be reduced significantly or reversed through re-balancing your body, mind and spirit.

What is “normal” is to feel energetic, pain-free, light, and playful well into your 80’s and even beyond.

“Normal” is also being able to live your dreams – no matter how old you are or what genes you inherited.

Your Body Was Designed to Self-Heal

Your body is a self-healing, self-organizing, self-regulating organism. It knows exactly how to be healthy if given what it needs – what it was designed to have to operate optimally.

Science has now proven, through the science of epigenetics that only 10-20 % of your genes are fixed. 80-90% are changeable. In fact, your genes (DNA) are changing every second – depending on what you are eating, thinking and how you are acting, interacting and reacting to the environment.

When given what it needs your body will run optimally, produce abundant energy, and support good moods, clear thinking, and optimal body weight.

Having reversed an autoimmune disease, being an avid researcher in matters of the mind and brain, and working as a licensed psychotherapist for over 20 years, I’ve come to believe that the most important thing your body needs to create vibrant health and happiness is a clear, calm, positive mind.

A Clear, Focused Mind Creates Good Health and Helps Manifest Your Dreams

Simply put, you cannot create good health or manifest positive outcomes in your life from a chaotic, unfocused mind.

Whether you’re wanting to create healing in the body, heal a broken heart, mend an estranged relationship, or create success in your career, you won’t get there with an un-centered or negative mind.

Numerous studies have shown that 75 to 90 % of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of your thoughts.

Thoughts Create Chemicals that Heal or Damage Your Cells

The average person has over 50,000 thoughts a day. Every single one of these thoughts, most of which the average person is totally unaware of, produce a cascade of chemical neurotransmitters and hormones that flood your cells and determine your cell’s ability to perform its function.

If the thought is positive and uplifting, it will produce life-supporting chemicals and hormones that will nourish, balance and support your cells to perform optimally. But, if the thought is negative, it will produce the opposite.

Dr. Caroline Leaf, a well-known brain researcher and author cites studies showing that fear-based thoughts alone trigger more than 1,400 known physical and chemical responses and activate more than 30 different hormones. An uncontrolled thought process creates the perfect conditions for illness – we can make ourselves sick with our negative and limiting thoughts!

But, the great news is the opposite is true too. We can make ourselves well with positive and empowering thoughts.

Here are 3 ways to do that:

3 Ways to Stop Scattered Thinking

1. Re-center your Mind

Start noticing when your thoughts are becoming scattered and simply stop what you are doing and bring your mind to a calm, focused place by:

  1. Closing your eyes and focusing on your breath.
  2. Noticing if your breath is a little fast or shallow and just allowing it to become slower and deeper.
  3. Taking two deeper, slower breaths.

2. Practice Mindfulness Meditation daily

This will help you to become aware of your actual thoughts and release negative thinking. You can find these on YouTube, download one of the many apps, or listen to one of mine here.

3. Start taking more relaxing breaks during the day.

You need to create new neural pathways in your brain – rewire your brain for relaxation and calm, centered thinking. That takes some practice.  Become mindful of your breath throughout the day and make it a practice to be more aware of your breathing and your thoughts.
